I am now pretty convinced that there is nothing that annoys me more than things that break. I officially declare June the "it's gonna break" Month! Our boat oil pump, broke. Zacks knee, broke (well, we at least thought so we still forked out the bucks for an MRI) TV, that is only year old, broke! The Fridge, less than a year old, broke.......3x! The cost of the 3 repairs is now more than the fridge itself. If anyone wants to know the brand, I will be glad to share. And finally, something we can all relate to, the igniter button on the gas grill......broke! That thing has broken on every grill we have ever had. Now, we play....light the grill with a match without getting blown up, game.
There are so many reasons that things breaking annoys the snot out of me. The frustration level grows with each incident. Sometimes I seriously think there is a demon out there who's name is, "Break the Carrs". I seriously doubt it, but it has crossed my mind. But I am reminded of how targeted a follow of Christ and his family can be. Some people may argue that these things are a part of life that we all just have to live with and keep paying for. There is simple truth in that. However, I also believe that if our adversaries will is to steal our joy, kill our spirit, and destroy our credibility than we must always be on guard and never take the simple things lightly.
Things are going to break and the pressures of life are going to grow. The land-mines of life will never be over. I would go a step further and say that the greater impact you are having against those behind the gates of hell, the more aware and ready you be better be to handle those land-mines.
When things begin to break in your life and you feel like your beginning to lose ground, don't forget
I John 5:4-5 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith!
just say'n (finally)
